Work on the House
We had about 3 months remaining on our lease, so we decided to take that time to do some work to the new house. We didn't do a lot but we did a few things. The appliances were in terrible shape, so we replaced the range (went from electric to gas), oven, microwave, sink / faucets and refridgerator. We also had them take out the trash compactor and build a trash drawer that pulls out. We had the cabinets all stripped and painted, with new hardware. We added granite countertops with tile backsplash. We had the living room painted so that it was not that wood grain anymore. It lightened it up. We had a few ceilings scraped, removing the popcorn texture and then repainted. We had a little painting done, but the majority of the painting was done by Kristi and her mom. I wasn't trusted to wield a paintbrush.
